1 ) TOPKAPI PALACE MUSEUM ( TOPKAPI SARAYI )

Topkapı Palace Museum is one of the biggest museums in the world and it has a larger area than Vatican State; beside being used as the residence of the Ottomon Sultans , it was also the administration centre of the Ottomon Empire.

2 ) ARCHEOLOGICAL MUSEUM ( ARKEOLOJİ MÜZESİ )

The remains of the old greek, Roman and Byzantine civillisations such as sarcophagi,epitahps,inscriptions,mosaics,sculptures are exhibited in the museum.

3 ) CHORA MUSEUM ( KARİYE MÜZESİ )

Today’s museum which has been transformed from Byzantine Chora Monastery to a mosque, contains mosaics and frescoes that belong to the late Byzantine period and describing the holy stories from the Bible.

4 ) TURKISH & ISLAMIC ART MUSEUM ( TÜRK VE İSLAM ESERLERİ MÜZESİ )

Ceramics,carpets,wooden and stone works, calligraphy and miniatures can be seen in different halls of the Ibrahim Pasha Palace of the 16th century.

5 ) SAINT SOPHIA MUSEUM ( AYASOFYA MÜZESİ )

The biggest , the most famous , the richest and the most beautiful Byzantine monument in İstanbul.

6 ) THE BASILICA CISTERN ( YEREBATAN SARAYI )

The biggest cistern of Byzantin period has 140m.length and 70 m.width and 336 columns.

7 ) DERVISHES’ MUSEUM ( GALATA MEVLEVİHANESİ )

The daily life goods and musical instruments of the whirling Dervishes can bee seen in this small museum.

8 ) THE FORTRESS MUSEUMS ( RUMELİ / ANADOLU HİSARLARI )

The fortresses on both sides of the Bosphorus, built on the narrowest point between Europe and Asia;have been reorganized as monumental museums and open to public.Both have a spectacular view of the Bosphorus from the high towers.

9) TURKISH CALIGRAPHY MUSEUM ( HAT SANATLARI MÜZESİ )

The caligraphies produced by the Turkish artists during the Ottoman Period can be seen here.

10 ) MILITARY MUSEUM ( ASKERİ MÜZE )

The weapons and the war materials,documents,armours and clothes can be seen. Ottoman Military Band concerts are performed often.

11 ) NAVY MUSEUM ( DENİZ MÜZESİ )

The models of the old Turkish ships , uniforms of the sailors , pictures & engravings describing the history of Turkish Navy , maps & drawlings are being exhibited.

12 ) CARTOON AND HOMOUR MUSEUM ( KARİKATÜR MÜZESİ )

The samples and the master pieces of Turkish cartoon art,old homour books can be seen in this unique museum.Sometimes contemporary cartoon exibitions take place in the museum as well.

13 ) REFORM MUSEUM ( TANZİMAT MÜZESİ )

The imperial edict about the reforms,medals,portraits of the statements,documents and portraits of the statemen , documents and newspaper belong to a certain reforms period at the beginning of 20th century are being kept in this small museum.

14 ) ATATÜRK'S HOME ( ATATÜRK EVİ MÜZESİ )

This the house where the founder of the modern Turkish State Mustafa Kemal Atatürk lived for a while with his mother and sister just before the war of indepence.

15 ) PRESS MUSEUM ( BASIN MÜZESİ )

On the first floor of this museum,old –fashioned and modern printing machines are exhibited.On the second floor,a maquette of this printing office , samples of old magazines and newspapers can be seen.

16 ) PAINTING & SCULPTURE MUSEUM ( RESİM VE HEYKEL MÜZESİ )

The works of the Turkish painters and sculpturers are being exhibited in the building which also has a nice and quiet park with a pool in front .

17 ) DOLMABAHÇE PALACE MUSEUM ( DOLMABAHÇE SARAYI )

Ottaman Sultans have lived in this palace starting from 1856.

18 ) YILDIZ PALACE MUSEUM ( YILDIZ SARAYI )

Consist of different pavilions where the Ottoman Sultans have lived sometimes.ıt was well known for its theatre,pharmacy,library,workshop by its time.

19 ) BEYLERBEYİ PALACE ( BEYLERBEYİ SARAYI )

Summer Palace of the Ottoman Sultans in 19th century.

20 ) SADBERK HANIM MUSEUM ( SADBERK HANIM MÜZESİ )

One of the most beautiful 19th century Bosphorus houses is restored and exhibited with its large collection of ethographia.
